Coping with Feelings of Loneliness During the Holidays

Archita Kochhar

Loneliness is not uncommon to feel around the times of holidays. While others are celebrating, some people may feel alone or feel that they have no or less social interaction. Although it may be an unpleasant, hurtful thing to experience- there are many ways by which people can stop the feeling of loneliness during the holidays. If they are unable to see or meet their loved ones, they can reach them through technology. Almost everyone has friends and acquaintances who will be alone for the holiday season. Make plans with them. Another classic way of banishing the blues is to volunteer your time for a worthy cause. If a person is unable to feel less lonely after this as well then work together with your doctor, counselor, or therapist on a plan to reduce holiday stress. Don't let the holidays bring you down!
